Tornado in Michigan Claims Four Lives, Injures Twelve

On Friday, a tornado struck Michigan, particularly affecting the southern part of the state near Union City, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and injuring at least twelve others, according to multiple media reports. The Branch County Sheriff's Office confirmed that three people were killed in the tornado, while one fatality was reported in Cass County.

The tornado caused extensive damage, with numerous trees downed on roads and buildings, leading to approximately 500 residents losing power. Emergency management personnel are set to conduct damage assessments in the affected areas.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer activated the state emergency operations center to coordinate the response to the severe weather. In a social media post, she expressed gratitude to first responders for their quick actions to ensure the safety of Michiganders.
