Trabzonspor Offers Nwakaeme Scouting Role After Retirement

Trabzonspor has officially offered veteran Nigerian winger Anthony Nwakaeme a position within their scouting structure after his retirement from playing. The club's president, Ertugrul Dogan, confirmed the offer, highlighting Nwakaeme's extensive football knowledge and strong character as key attributes for the role.

Nwakaeme, who played a crucial part in Trabzonspor's success, including helping the team secure a Turkish Cup victory against Konyaspor, is expected to assist in identifying emerging African talent. At 37 years old, Nwakaeme has a storied history with Trabzonspor, scoring 50 goals in 193 appearances and winning every major domestic trophy in Turkish football during his two spells with the club from 2018 to 2022 and again from 2024 to 2026.

He has reportedly turned down lucrative offers from clubs in the United Arab Emirates to remain with Trabzonspor, where he is viewed as a significant figure in the dressing room and a mentor to younger players.
