TracTrac Deploys 282 Tractors to Boost Youth Agriculture

TracTrac Mechanization Services Limited, led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Godson Ohuruogu, has expanded its youth-driven agricultural mechanization program by deploying 282 three-wheeled tractors in Kaduna and Nasarawa States.

This initiative aims to enhance food production, create rural jobs, and provide smallholder farmers with affordable mechanized farming services. The program is designed to establish businesses rather than merely distribute equipment, with each tractor representing a potential income-generating business for young people.

The latest rollout is part of the Improving Smallholder Farmers’ Access to Small-Scale Agricultural Mechanization Services (ISSAM) program, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, following a previous deployment of 154 tractors in 2025. The initiative has established 282 youth-led cooperatives and trained 1,974 Mechanization Service Providers (MSPs), serving over 2,000 smallholder farmers.

The newly deployed tractors will operate in specific Local Government Areas, equipped for various mechanization services throughout the farming season.
