Gunmen Kill Five Siblings and 25 Others in Kaduna Attack

On Monday at approximately 12:35 am, gunmen attacked a community in Kaduna, resulting in the deaths of five siblings—Deborah Emmanuel, Friday Emmanuel, Yusuf Emmanuel, Yunana Emmanuel, and Irimiya Emmanuel—and at least 25 other individuals. The parents of the siblings survived the attack and returned to the community after the tragic loss.

Reports indicate that many residents were injured, and several houses were set ablaze. Comrade Friday Ango, a former youth leader, confirmed that the death toll could rise, with local sources estimating up to 30 fatalities.

The attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, executed the assault without resistance, prompting many residents to flee. Ango stated that there were no reported abductions, but the victims included women, children, and the elderly.

He criticized reports linking the violence to farmer-herder clashes, asserting that the community was attacked without provocation. The incident occurred shortly after the launch of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund (NNSTF), which aims to enhance regional security.
