Gunmen Kill Four in Mangu Hours After Army Meeting

On September 11 and 12, 2026, a series of attacks in Mangu Local Government Area resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left one person injured. The Mwaghavul Youth Movement (MYM) reported that the first victim, 55-year-old Geoffrey Gumut, was killed in Kikyau, Mangu Halle District, on September 11.
The following night, 29-year-old Katbam Titus was killed in the Kinat community. Additionally, on September 12, Pius Dachen, 50, and Zadok Irmiya, 25, were killed in Ntul, Mangu District.
The MYM noted that these attacks occurred shortly after a security meeting held by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division with Mwaghavul and Fulani leaders, where he urged both groups to resolve their differences. The MYM expressed concerns regarding the presence of security personnel during the attack in Larkas, Panyam District, where 45-year-old Danjuma Kyesle was injured.
The group called for increased protection for residents and urged community leaders to help identify armed elements.
