Man United Urged to Sign Cristian Romero from Spurs

Micky Gray, a former Sunderland left-back, has advised Manchester United to pursue Cristian Romero, the captain of Tottenham Hotspur, who is looking to leave the club due to dissatisfaction with his situation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In a discussion on talkSPORT, Gray acknowledged Romero's personal and professional shortcomings but expressed a strong desire to see him join Manchester United.

He emphasized the potential benefits of reuniting Romero with Lisandro Martinez, stating that despite Romero's issues at Tottenham, he possesses quality as a centre-back. Romero has been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal, while Spurs are negotiating with Inter Milan regarding a transfer.

Chelsea has recently signed Maxence Lacroix for £52 million, which may affect their interest in additional centre-backs. Arsenal has not yet approached Romero as they seek to address the absence of the injured William Saliba.

Manchester United currently has five senior centre-backs, and Michael Carrick is cautious about adding more players to that position, especially with the UEFA Champions League upcoming.
