TRCN Warns Against Fraudulent Registration Portals

The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) has warned teachers, school owners, and prospective applicants about fraudulent activities involving individuals and groups using its name to defraud the public. In a statement from its Registrar/Chief Executive, Dr. Ronke Soyombo, the Council highlighted the rise of online platforms claiming to offer TRCN registration, Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE), and certification services.

TRCN clarified that it has not authorized any agents, consultants, or staff to collect money or process registrations outside its official channels. The Council stated that its official website is the only legitimate source for information regarding its services and cautioned against making payments to personal bank accounts.

Certificates obtained through unofficial means will not be recognized. TRCN urged the public to disregard unverified information and report any fraudulent activities to security agencies.

The Council has directed legal advisers and law enforcement to investigate and prosecute impersonators, as such acts are criminal offenses under Nigerian law.
