Türkiye Allows Entry with ID Cards for 21 Countries

Türkiye has officially announced that citizens from 21 countries can now enter its territory using only their national identity cards, thereby removing the passport requirement. This information was released on the Turkish government's official website.

The list includes countries from Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and parts of the former Soviet Union. The countries permitted to enter Türkiye with national IDs are: Germany, Belgium, France, Georgia, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Ukraine, Greece, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Azerbaijan, and Romania.

Most of these countries are European Union member states, while others, such as Switzerland, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Azerbaijan, are non-EU nations. This new policy significantly simplifies travel for citizens of these nations, as they only need a valid national identity card for entry into Türkiye.
