Troops Arrest Four Boko Haram/ISWAP Collaborators

Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, arrested four suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP collaborators during separate operations in Yobe and Borno States. The arrests were announced by Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer, on Tuesday.

On August 3, troops from the 159 Battalion conducted a cordon-and-search operation in Geidam, Yobe State, based on credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of two suspects who allegedly supplied hard drugs and logistics to Boko Haram fighters. Recovered items included a large quantity of suspected Indian hemp, mobile phones, and cash.

In a separate operation in Monguno, Borno State, troops arrested two suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers who confessed to transporting supplies to ISWAP fighters. Additionally, 20 suspected family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad were intercepted during a routine patrol in Konduga.

All arrested suspects and recovered items have been transferred to Military Intelligence units for further investigation.
