Troops Arrest Five Suspected Kidnappers in Yobe

On July 23, troops from Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with the Yobe State Hunters Group, conducted a raid in Jegalari Village, Fune Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of five suspected kidnappers. The operation was based on credible intelligence regarding the suspects' activities.

Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, reported that the troops from the 233 Battalion, stationed at Damaturu Military Cantonment, executed the mission. During the raid, military personnel recovered three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, a locally made pistol, assorted ammunition, and four mobile phones.

The suspects are currently in military custody as investigations into their alleged involvement in kidnapping and related crimes continue. Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to intelligence-driven operations aimed at denying criminal elements freedom of action in the North East and urged the public to report suspicious activities to security agencies.
