Troops Destroy Boko Haram Hideout, Recover Weapons in Borno

On Saturday, troops from the 145 Battalion, under the command of an unspecified officer, executed a successful operation in the Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State. The operation was based on credible intelligence regarding the movement of suspected terrorists in the Layin area.

Upon arrival, the troops found that the suspected terrorists had fled, allowing them to overrun and destroy the hideout. During the search of the area, the troops recovered a pump-action rifle and three AK-47 magazines, believed to have been abandoned by the fleeing insurgents.

Following the operation, the troops extended their patrol to the villages of Mallamti and Ganyawa but did not encounter any terrorists. The military sources reported that the operation concluded successfully without any casualties, and the security situation in the area was described as relatively calm, although troops remain on high alert for continued offensive operations against terrorist groups in the northeast.
