Troops Kill 21 Terrorists in ISWAP Camp Operation

On August 27, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force North-East, under Operation Hadin Kai, successfully dismantled an Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) camp located in the Kopre Mountain area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State. This operation was part of ongoing search-and-rescue efforts and was executed based on credible intelligence.

The joint offensive involved the Office of the National Security Adviser Tactical Team and newly inducted troops from the 226 Battalion. According to Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer, the operation resulted in the deaths of at least 21 terrorists, with several others fleeing with injuries.

The troops engaged in two separate encounters, ultimately dominating the area, dismantling the camp, and destroying logistics infrastructure. Additionally, they recovered multiple AK-47 rifles and destroyed motorcycles and jerrycans used for terrorist logistics.

The operation showcased the effectiveness and tactical proficiency of the joint forces in combating terrorism.
