Military Declares ISWAP Leader Most Wanted in Lake Chad

The military has identified several senior leaders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) operating around the Lake Chad Basin, following intelligence gathered during recent operations by troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) in northern Borno State. The identification came after the recovery of technical devices and intelligence materials, including a camcorder used for propaganda.

Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer for OPHK, stated that forensic analysis of these devices led to the identification of key commanders in the Mangari–Metele–Dogon Chukun axis. Among those identified is Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the Wali (Governor) of ISWAP, who is now the most wanted terrorist leader in the region.

The military has announced a substantial financial reward for credible information leading to his arrest and assured the public that all information will be treated confidentially.
