AFN Troops Neutralize Terrorists in Nationwide Operations

Troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have sustained an aggressive posture against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and crude theft across the country. Between July 17 and 23, 2023, they eliminated numerous Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, arrested many, and rescued several kidnapped victims.

Major General Michael Onoja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, provided this update on July 23, assuring that the troops would continue their aggressive operations until normalcy is restored. The AFN conducted offensive operations that resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition intended for insurgents and other criminal elements.

They also ensured the safety of strategic national corridors and secured interstate road and rail networks. General Onoja emphasized the professionalism of the troops and their commitment to protecting lives and property, degrading the capabilities of criminal elements, and restoring peace and stability across all operational theatres.
