Troops Rescue 13 Kidnap Victims in Zamfara Operations

On Wednesday, troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, successfully rescued 13 kidnap victims in Zamfara State. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence that indicated heavily armed terrorists were advancing toward Tungan Kudaduku in the Anka Local Government Area.

Troops engaged the terrorists in a gun battle, forcing them to abandon their mission and flee into the surrounding bush. A subsequent search led to the discovery of a makeshift terrorist camp, where five kidnapped civilians were found and rescued unharmed.

In a separate operation in Ungwan Rogo, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, troops acted on intelligence regarding terrorist movements, resulting in the rescue of an additional eight kidnap victims. The troops also recovered two vehicles believed to have been abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.

Lieutenant Colonel Danja stated that the operations underscore the commitment of the forces to protect lives and restore peace in Zamfara State.
