Troops Rescue Woman and Children in Niger Ambush Operation

On May 10, troops from the Combat Service Infantry Brigade conducted an ambush operation in the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, rescuing a woman and four children. The operation began at 6:45 AM, following intelligence reports of terrorist movements attempting to cross into the Jadua area near Kainji Lake National Park.

During the ambush, troops made contact with the terrorists, who abandoned the woman and children while fleeing into the forest to evade arrest. Items recovered from the scene included three motorcycles and a mobile phone believed to belong to the terrorists.

The rescued victims received necessary care, and efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing terrorists. This operation is part of a sustained clearance mission aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and preventing their infiltration around the Kainji Lake National Park and surrounding communities.
