Tuggar Disowns Supporters Backing APC Candidate Abubakar

Yusuf Tuggar, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, publicly distanced himself from a group of supporters who endorsed Mohammed Abubakar, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Bauchi State. In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media, Alkasim Abdulkadir, Tuggar described the supporters' actions as unauthorized and based on "deliberate misinformation." He stated that reports claiming his supporters had abandoned him for Abubakar were false and intended to mislead party members.

Tuggar recently resigned from his ministerial position to contest for the APC governorship ticket but lost the primary election to Abubakar. The Tuggar Campaign Organisation condemned the misleading claims, asserting that no individual or group had been authorized to negotiate or declare support for any other aspirant on Tuggar's behalf.

The statement called for honesty and respect for democratic values in political campaigns, emphasizing that the pursuit of political ambition should not compromise the truth.
