PDP Faction Endorses Adeleke for Osun Governorship Election

The Kabiru Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially endorsed Ademola Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate and current Governor of Osun State, for the governorship election scheduled for Saturday. This endorsement was announced in a statement by the faction's National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, on Thursday.

The decision follows a Court of Appeal judgment that upheld the nomination of Adebayo Adedamola as the PDP candidate. The court, sitting in Abuja, directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to include the PDP logo on the ballot for the August 15, 2026, election.

Ememobong stated that the court recognized the PDP's primary election process, monitored by INEC. However, the faction criticized INEC for allegedly refusing to acknowledge its candidate and withholding necessary codes for candidate uploads.

They expressed that the court's ruling came too late for effective campaigning. The faction urged its members to support Adeleke, emphasizing the importance of fair elections.
