PDP Refutes Wike's Corruption Claims Against Bode George

The Lagos state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Kabiru Turaki (SAN), has refuted allegations made by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike. Wike claimed during a media chat that Chief Olabode George, the former deputy national chairman of the PDP, purchased his property in Maitama, Abuja, using proceeds of corruption linked to Rivers State.

The PDP, through a statement by its Lagos state publicity secretary, Dr. Christopher Odianarewo, condemned Wike's accusations, asserting that George had been exonerated of corruption by the Supreme Court regarding his tenure as Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Board. The party described Wike's remarks as hypocritical and an abuse of office, emphasizing that neither Wike nor Rivers State has any connection to George's private residence.

The PDP criticized Wike for overstepping boundaries and misusing his ministerial position to intimidate individuals.
