Gunmen Abduct Ogun Farmer, Demand N500 Million Ransom

On Sunday afternoon at approximately 12:05 p.m., 33-year-old poultry farmer Oreoluwa Osonuga was abducted by armed men at the Ikenne Farm Settlement in Ogun State. Seye Kehinde, the chairman of the farm settlement, reported that the kidnappers contacted Osonuga's family, demanding a ransom of N500 million for his release.

Following the abduction, security personnel, including police and military units from Ilese, were deployed to search the area, but no tangible results were achieved. Two days after the incident, Kehinde stated that there had been no significant developments regarding Osonuga's rescue or release.

The last contact from the kidnappers occurred on Sunday evening, around 5 p.m., when they spoke with a cousin of the victim's father. The victim's granduncle, Soga Osonuga, confirmed the abduction and expressed the family's distress, emphasizing the emotional toll of the incident on them as they seek the safe return of Oreoluwa Osonuga.
