Brothers Survive Suicide Bombing in Maiduguri Attack

On Monday, two brothers, 35-year-old Sanni Muhammad and 17-year-old Bashir Muhammad, recounted their miraculous escape from a suicide bombing in Maiduguri, Borno State, which resulted in 23 fatalities and 108 injuries. The attack occurred at three locations, including a post office and a market, prompting immediate security responses from the Borno State Police Command.

Sanni described how the bomb exploded shortly after they arrived at the market, where they had gone to purchase items. They left their home on Damboa Road around 6:45 PM and encountered a brief delay due to traffic.

Governor Babagana Zulum, who was in Saudi Arabia for lesser hajj, condemned the attack as cowardly and inhumane, emphasizing the need for heightened security measures, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. He assured residents that military and security agencies are on high alert to prevent further incidents.
