Bauchi Police Arrest Two for Fake Job Recruitment Scheme

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested two suspects, Mohan Bappa, a 30-year-old civil servant attached to the Shira Local Government Secretariat, and Aminu Nuru, a 28-year-old business owner from Azar Town in the Katagum Local Government Area. The arrests followed a formal complaint received on April 28, 2026, from the head of the Civil Service Commission's recruitment and training office regarding fraudulent activities related to the circulation of fake civil service recruitment documents.

Police spokesperson Nafiu Habib stated that upon receiving the complaint, the command initiated an investigation that led to the discovery of 20 civil service commission biodata forms and five printed copies of purported temporary appointment letters during a search of Bappa's residence in the Kakudi area of Azar Town. The investigation is ongoing to uncover possible accomplices and determine the extent of the alleged criminal network.
