UAE Sets Five Conditions for Work Permit Approval

The United Arab Emirates government, through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), has established five essential conditions for the issuance of work permits. Firstly, workers must be at least 18 years old, with exceptions for juvenile work permits and student training.

Secondly, the job role must correspond with the registered activity of the employing company. Thirdly, the company's trade license must be current and free of violations.

Fourthly, workers in specialized professions must meet specific legislative requirements. Lastly, the application must be submitted by an authorized representative of the company.

The MoHRE retains the right to withhold or revoke permits under certain conditions, such as submission of false documents or non-compliance with the UAE's Wages Protection System. Employers seeking to renew permits must continue to meet these conditions and submit relevant documentation.

These requirements apply to private sector employment and aim to enhance labor market regulation and transparency.
