UAE Introduces 5 Work Permits Valid for 2 Years

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has released a comprehensive breakdown of the 13 types of work permits it issues to establishments registered with the authority. The majority of these permits have a validity of just two years.

Specifically, five of the most commonly used permits fall under this two-year limit, which includes various employment situations such as bringing workers from abroad, part-time arrangements, and freelance work within the country. Additionally, the MoHRE noted that not all 13 permit types adhere to the two-year validity rule.

Other categories, including temporary work permits, mission work permits, part-time work permits, freelance work permits, and private teacher work permits, are also listed, but without specific duration details, indicating that the terms may vary based on the nature of the role or employer. Furthermore, the UAE offers a 14-day work permit that can be processed entirely online without the need to visit an embassy.
