UBA Named Nigeria’s Best Bank at 2026 Euromoney Awards

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc was recognized as Nigeria’s Best Bank for Retail and Sustainability Leadership (ESG) at the 2026 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, held at The Peninsula London in the United Kingdom. This recognition highlights UBA's significant achievements in financial performance, innovation, customer impact, and sustainable business practices.

UBA distinguished itself through initiatives such as the launch of a Green Financing Facility aimed at supporting households and businesses transitioning to renewable energy, a ₦5 billion financing program in partnership with the Bank of Industry to empower women-owned businesses, and a commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Oliver Alawuba, UBA’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, stated that the awards validate the bank's commitment to creating value for customers and advancing sustainable development across Africa.
