Kaduna's Open Government Reforms Lauded at UCLG Congress

At the UCLG World Congress in Morocco, Kaduna State's open government reforms were commended. Governor Uba Sani's administration, represented by Alhaji Mukhtar Ahmad Moham, highlighted the state's commitment to human capital development and citizen engagement.

Key initiatives include the construction of 736 classrooms, recruitment of 10,000 teachers, and revitalization of 255 primary healthcare centers. The administration allocated 11% of the 2026 budget to agriculture, with 23 local government areas participating in the open government partnership.

The budget includes a provision for citizen nominations on projects, with 100 million allocated to community development initiatives. Kaduna State achieved a perfect score in fiscal transparency, demonstrating its commitment to democratizing governance and enhancing public trust.

The administration advocates for stronger global support for subnational governments to implement development policies effectively, aligning with the post-2030 global development agenda.
