Peter Mandelson Arrested Over Epstein Ties in London

Peter Mandelson, a former British ambassador to the United States, was arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London on Monday, September 2025, amid allegations of misconduct in public office. The investigation into Mandelson's ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein began earlier in the month.

The 72-year-old Mandelson was taken to a police station in London for formal questioning. While the police did not name him in their statement due to rules prohibiting the identification of suspects before charges are brought, they confirmed his connection to a property search in Wiltshire and Camden, North London.

Mandelson, who previously resigned from the Labour Party, has not publicly commented on the allegations, which reportedly involve sharing sensitive government information. Prior documents released by the Department of Justice did not indicate any wrongdoing or misdemeanour on his part.
