UK Lists 30 Countries Eligible for Public Benefits Access

The United Kingdom has officially published a list of 30 countries whose citizens are eligible to claim public benefits while residing in Britain. This eligibility is linked to the EU Settlement Scheme, which allows individuals with either settled status or pre-settled status to access public funds without the typical No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) restriction.

The list includes all 27 European Union member states, along with Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, totaling 30 eligible countries. The specific EU nations listed are Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

It is important to note that not all nationals from these countries can access public funds automatically; they must first secure either settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme.
