UK Lists Nigeria Among Countries for Windrush Scheme

The United Kingdom government has published a list of 65 countries and territories, including Nigeria, whose citizens or children may be eligible to apply under the Windrush Scheme. This scheme is intended for individuals already settled in the UK who cannot provide documentation to prove their status.

According to the UK government, eligibility may apply if the individual or their parent holds citizenship of one of the listed Commonwealth countries. The Windrush Scheme does not automatically grant status but provides a pathway for applicants to secure evidence of their existing settlement arrangements.

The list includes several African nations such as Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Mauritius, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, among others.
