South-East Leaders Push for Nnamdi Kanu's Release

On Saturday, David Umahi, the Governor of Ebonyi State, revealed that South-East leaders are making fresh efforts to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). During an inspection of the Section II of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project in Ebonyi State, Umahi stressed the need for peace and stability across the region.

He stated that the governors of the South-East are committed to exploring political means to address Kanu's detention. Umahi reaffirmed loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, dismissing any suggestions of a political shift in the region.

He criticized former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi for statements made regarding Tinubu's infrastructure projects, calling them unfortunate. Umahi also highlighted the ongoing infrastructural projects aimed at stimulating economic growth in the South-East and emphasized the importance of credible leadership in addressing regional issues.
