Seyi Makinde Promises to Reset Nigeria by 2027 Election

Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, made a commitment to reset Nigeria within four years if elected president on May 29, 2027. Speaking at the North Central Town Hall meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, he described himself as a "resetter" and outlined his agenda, which includes reforms in security, education, and the economy.

Makinde asserted that this reset could be achieved in one term, citing historical precedents of rapid change in governance. He proposed a transitional government of national unity to introduce new players and a sustainable development agenda for Nigeria.

Makinde expressed gratitude to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule for the hospitality shown to his campaign team. He emphasized that the upcoming election would be determined by the Nigerian populace rather than wealthy individuals or polls.

Additionally, he criticized the federal government's recent military budget decisions, highlighting a lack of transparency regarding new army divisions announced for 2026.
