David Umahi Plans to Mobilize Influencers for Infrastructure

On September 23, 2026, Minister of Works Senator David Umahi stated that the Federal Government must enhance its communication regarding infrastructure achievements, particularly to young Nigerians. During a meeting in Abuja with the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), he revealed plans to engage 4,000 social media influencers to showcase ongoing and completed federal infrastructure projects.

Umahi encouraged NANS to provide advice on utilizing young people and social media for effective communication about government projects. He highlighted the necessity of independent inspections by students to assess project progress and identify areas for improvement.

Umahi praised President Bola Tinubu as an "infrastructure President," noting extensive construction activities nationwide. He also mentioned ongoing plans to improve infrastructure around tertiary institutions, including requests for pedestrian bridges at the University of Abuja and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The completion of the main pavement of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, covering 105 kilometers, is expected by November.
