Umo Eno Delivers Lecture at Yoruba Tennis Club Centenary

On August 8, 2023, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom delivered a lecture titled "Democracy and Good Governance: Renewing Hope in Challenging Times" at the Yoruba Tennis Club (YTC) in Onikan, Lagos, as part of the club's centenary celebrations. The YTC, founded in 1926, has grown from 25 members to over 2,000 today, serving as a prestigious social club in Lagos.

Eno was chosen to speak due to his exceptional performance in office and understanding of good governance principles. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Eno's predecessor Udom Emmanuel, Governor Babajide Sawon-olu, and various dignitaries from Akwa Ibom State, such as Atuekong Don Etiebet and Senators Effiong Bob, Aloysius Etok, and Ekong Sampson.

Eno's lecture began with a historical perspective on the founding of the YTC, emphasizing the determination of early Nigerian members to create their own social spaces in a segregated colonial society.
