Tinubu Advocates Fiscal Reforms for Nigeria's Economy

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu asserted that Nigeria is making foundational progress during his administration, particularly in the realm of fiscal reforms necessary to stabilize the economy. He made these remarks while receiving a delegation from Deloitte Africa, led by Chief Executive Officer Ruwayda Redfearn, at the State House.

Tinubu acknowledged the painful nature of reforms, describing them as "bitter medicine" essential for establishing a serious foundation for economic progress. He emphasized that these reforms are aimed at stimulating the economy and strengthening the fiscal revenue sector to prepare Nigeria for global competitiveness.

Tinubu further appealed to Deloitte Africa to enhance its impact on the Nigerian economy by training and recruiting the dynamic youth population. Taiwo Oyedele, the Coordinating Minister of Finance and the Economy, also spoke about the impact of these reforms, urging business leaders to focus on building capacity among the youth.

Deloitte Africa's Yomi Olugbenro assured the President of the firm's support for the reform philosophy.
