Nigerian Army Investigates Allegations of Misconduct

The Nigerian Army, through Major Ibrahim Yahaya, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations at the Depot Nigerian Army Osogbo, has vowed to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into allegations of misconduct linked to its personnel at Osun State University. The Army stated that it has not received any formal complaints or credible evidence regarding the alleged rape incident.

Major Yahaya emphasized the Army's commitment to professionalism and stated that any personnel found guilty will face consequences according to military law. The Army also addressed claims made by Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooy, the Vice Chancellor of Osun State University, which have circulated on social media without concrete evidence.

The Army urged the public to avoid actions that could undermine the ongoing investigation and to refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause panic among students. They invited any victims to present evidence directly to the inquiry board, assuring them of confidentiality and protection.
