U.S. Journalist Shelli Kittleson Kidnapped in Baghdad

On Tuesday, a U.S. journalist named Shelli Kittleson was kidnapped in Baghdad. The Iraqi Interior Ministry confirmed the incident but did not disclose specific details about the case or the identity of the kidnappers.

Two Iraqi security officials, speaking anonymously, indicated that Kittleson is a freelance journalist. The kidnapping involved two vehicles, one of which crashed during the pursuit by security forces.

Following the crash, authorities apprehended two suspects near Al Haswa in Babil Province, southwest of Baghdad. The Iraqi security forces have initiated operations to track down the kidnappers, utilizing intelligence and field operations to intercept vehicles linked to the suspects.
