US Missionary Condemns Killings in Plateau State

Alex Barbir, a US missionary and founder of Build Zion, condemned the recent killings in Plateau State, where nine members of a single family, including a two-month-old infant, were allegedly slaughtered by suspected Fulani terrorists. The attacks occurred on July 11, around 11:30 PM, when gunmen stormed the community of Kum Wereng in the Riyom Local Government Area, opening fire indiscriminately.

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who reported the incident, claimed that members of his church received threatening letters warning of imminent attacks.

Barbir criticized the silence of the international community and the global church regarding the violence affecting Christian communities in Nigeria, stating that it is not a fictional narrative. He expressed frustration over the continuous attacks and emphasized the need for support to rebuild affected communities and restore hope.
