U.S. Lists 42 Countries Eligible for ESTA Travel

The U.S. government has released a comprehensive list of 42 countries whose citizens are eligible to travel to the United States using the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). This program allows nationals from approved countries to obtain authorization for travel to the U.S. for tourism or transit purposes without the need for a traditional visa application at an embassy or consulate.

Notably absent from this list are any African nations, meaning countries such as Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa must continue to apply for a standard U.S. visa through traditional embassy channels. The list primarily includes nations from Europe, with Qatar and Israel being the only representatives from the Middle East, while Singapore and South Korea, along with Japan, Taiwan, and Brunei, represent the broader Asian region.
