US Reaffirms Support for Morocco's Sahara Sovereignty

On Wednesday, the United States reaffirmed its recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara, as stated by Deputy Secretary of State Mr. Christopher Landau during a press conference.

This statement followed a meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Mr. Nasser Bourita in Rabat.

Mr. Landau emphasized the importance of addressing the long-standing conflict in the Sahara, which has remained unresolved for decades, stating that the situation cannot wait 50, 150, or even 200 years for resolution.

He reiterated the U.S. support for Morocco's serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal, which he described as the basis for a just solution to the territorial dispute. Additionally, Mr.

Landau expressed support for American companies wishing to invest in business opportunities in the Sahara region.
