NYSC Promotes Unity Through Cultural Diversity in Anambra

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) called on corps members to utilize Nigeria's cultural diversity to foster unity and progress. This appeal was made by Paulin Ojisua, the Anambra State Coordinator of NYSC, during the 2026 Batch Stream II inter-platoon cultural carnival held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Orientation Camp in Umuawulu, Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area.

Ojisua explained that the cultural carnival aimed to showcase Nigeria's rich cultural heritage and encourage youth to explore wealth-generating enterprises. She highlighted Nigeria's 250 ethnic groups and their unique languages, traditions, and values, stating that diversity should serve as a bridge for unity and peace.

The event featured performances from ten platoons representing various cultures, with Ojisua commending the corps members for their enthusiasm and teamwork. Traditional ruler HRH Igw Ben Emeka Okebo II emphasized the NYSC's role in sustaining national unity, while Ben Obi, chairman of the carnival committee, noted that the event celebrated Nigeria's vibrant cultural heritage.
