DeeOne Criticizes IGP Disu Over VeryDarkMan's Arrest

Nigerian comedian and influencer Aderombi Adedayo Martins, known as DeeOne, publicly criticized Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu in an Instagram video on Tuesday. DeeOne accused Disu of shielding activist VeryDarkMan from arrest after he failed to respond to police invitations for questioning.

DeeOne highlighted the arrests of former Big Brother Naija housemate Tacha and social media influencer B-Lord for similar reasons, asserting that all citizens should be treated equally under the law. He expressed frustration over the perceived preferential treatment given to VeryDarkMan, stating that the police had approved his arrest but that Disu was obstructing it.

DeeOne's remarks included strong language directed at Disu, questioning his effectiveness as IGP and suggesting that he may soon be replaced. He also indicated that he would continue to speak out on the issue, potentially sharing more personal insights about Disu's performance in office.

VeryDarkMan had previously announced his refusal to honor the police's invitation, which followed allegations he made against Assistant Inspector-General of Police Jimoh Moshood.
