VeryDarkMan Demands Transparency in Police Investigation

Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has expressed his willingness to honor an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force concerning allegations he made against Assistant Inspector-General of Police AIG Moshood Jimoh. His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, stated on August 5, 2026, that VDM seeks strict transparency measures during the investigation.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed on August 4 that VDM was invited by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja to substantiate his claims. VDM's legal team welcomed the police's decision to investigate and reiterated his readiness to cooperate.

However, they insisted that representatives from the Nigerian Bar Association, civil society organizations, and independent observers be allowed to monitor the interrogation. They also requested that VDM's legal representatives accompany him during the process.

The legal team emphasized that these requests aim to enhance public trust and do not intend to interfere with the police's constitutional powers.
