VeryDarkMan Addresses Insecurity at NBA Conference

Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, participated as a panellist at the 2026 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday. He clarified that his invitation was not to teach legal professionals but to share his experiences regarding insecurity in Nigeria.

VeryDarkMan recounted the kidnapping of a judge from Sokoto State on July 26, who was held for about a week. He criticized media organizations for inadequate coverage of violence and killings by assailants.

He specifically mentioned the June 13, 2025, attack on Yelwata in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, which resulted in over 200 deaths and significant property destruction. He claimed to be the first responder at the scene and noted that the attack was a retaliation by Fulani militants.

Furthermore, he referenced a trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja in February 2026, where it was revealed that disgruntled Fulani chiefs had sponsored over 200 armed men for the Yelwata attack.
