Umahi Denies Attacking Obi's Supporters, Advocates for Tinubu

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has refuted claims that he is attacking supporters of Peter Obi, known as Obidients. In a video interview shared on Facebook, Umahi clarified that his comments were aimed at encouraging residents of the South-East to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election.

He acknowledged the backlash from Obidients but interpreted it as a sign that his message was impactful. Umahi emphasized that he is not attacking individuals but rather advocating for Tinubu, stating, “I’m asking people in South-East and Nigeria not to vote for him, to vote for President Bola Tinubu.” He also addressed calls for a public debate with former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole regarding an uncompleted federal road project, suggesting he would prefer a private discussion due to their long-standing friendship.

Umahi pointed out that the road project in question was awarded during Oshiomhole's tenure and criticized its lack of completion, contrasting it with his own record on federal road projects during his governorship.
