IKEDC Worker Rescued After Electric Shock in Lagos

An official of Ikeja Electric Plc suffered an electric shock while performing repairs on a power pole at Gbagada Bus Stop in Lagos State. The incident caused panic among onlookers as rescue operations commenced.

A video circulating on social media showed two fellow IKEDC workers struggling to lower the victim, who appeared stuck on the ladder, with his head facing downwards. Eyewitnesses confirmed that the technician survived the initial shock, although his exact medical condition was unverified at the scene.

Kingsley Okotie, the Head of Corporate Communications at Ikeja Electric, later confirmed that the worker was receiving medical attention and was recuperating in the hospital. Okotie also stated that all necessary safety protocols would be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
