Badejo-Okusanya Vows to Resign if NBA Election Rigged

Afam Osigwe Badejo-Okusanya, the president-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), announced during a TVC News interview that she would resign if it is proven that the election that led to her presidency was rigged. She addressed allegations from some contestants and lawyers claiming the 2026 NBA presidential election was manipulated in her favor, asserting that the electoral process was transparent and subjected to extensive scrutiny.

Badejo-Okusanya maintained that she led the election consistently, with the margin between her and other candidates increasing as votes were counted. She emphasized the organic nature of the voting pattern, stating there was no evidence of vote dumping, which is often associated with rigging.

Furthermore, she rejected claims of support from President Bola Tinubu's administration, questioning how she could be considered a candidate of an administration that is not a member of the NBA. Badejo-Okusanya reaffirmed her commitment to serving NBA members according to its constitution.
