Family of Abducted General Rabe Pleads for Swift Action

The family of retired General Rabe expressed deep distress after a video surfaced showing his wife, Hajiya Amina Abubakar, and their driver, Abdullahi Sa Idu, who were abducted by bandits on May 30 along the Marabar Musawa-Kafinsoli road in Katsina State. The attack occurred near Zakin Baur village, where armed men ambushed their vehicle, forcing it to stop and opening fire, injuring the driver.

The notorious bandit leader, Muhammadu Kachalla, later contacted the victims' family, demanding the release of three detained associates in exchange for Hajiya Amina. The video, lasting four minutes and two seconds, showed the couple appearing calm, but the family described the footage as traumatic and psychologically torturous.

They have appealed to the Katsina State government and security agencies for urgent action to rescue the victims. The incident has heightened fear among residents, with local leaders urging a reassessment of security strategies in the area.
