Osun Senator Fadahunsi Questioned Over Inciting Comments

Francis Fadahunsi, the senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, left the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo after several hours of questioning concerning comments he made at an All Progressives Congress rally in Ilesa. His remarks were interpreted as inciting his supporters to "kill" members of the rival Accord Party.

The Osun State Police Command had summoned Fadahunsi to appear before the State Criminal Investigation Department, labeling his comments as threatening and inciting, which could escalate tensions ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday. Following his questioning, Fadahunsi was seen leaving the police facility with an entourage, but no official statements from either the police or the senator were available at the time of the report.

The governorship election features incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party seeking re-election against candidates from the APC, Accord Party, and other parties, amidst heightened political tension and increased security measures across the state.
