Pastors Urged to Engage in Politics by Femi Emmanuel

Femi Emmanuel, the presiding pastor of Living Spring Chapel International, called on pastors to cease criticizing government policies from the pulpit and instead become actively involved in politics. During an interview with TVC, he expressed concern over the lack of political understanding among the clergy and encouraged Christian youth in Nigeria to engage in grassroots politics.

Emmanuel, who served as Deputy Speaker from 1992 to 1993, argued that laws are made by those who participate in the political process, and merely shouting from the pulpit is insufficient. He also addressed the debate surrounding Muslim-Muslim and Christian-Christian political tickets, referencing former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and asserting that political office should not be based solely on religion.

Emmanuel dismissed claims of divine revelation regarding election outcomes, stating he does not know who hears from God in that context.
