Davido Banned from Performing in Edo State by Governor's Aide

Monday Okpebholo, the Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media to the Edo State Governor, Apostle Kassy Chukwu, announced that singer Davido is banned from performing in Edo State for the remainder of the governor's tenure. This declaration was made in a video shared on YouTube by Peniel TV International on Thursday.

The ban follows a dispute between Davido and the governor, which escalated after Davido refused to apologize for comments he made regarding Okpebholo. The conflict began when Okpebholo criticized Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido's uncle, during the lead-up to the August 15 governorship election.

Davido had shared what he claimed was Okpebholo's WAEC result on social media and defended his actions in an interview. Chukwu stated that Edo youths are angry over Davido's remarks and warned that he could face hostility if he returns to the state.

The situation has garnered significant online reactions amid the ongoing dispute.
